Psychiatrist and author exploring healing, consciousness, and human development.

I’m a psychiatrist and writer interested in how people heal, develop, and orient toward meaning across the lifespan. I explore the intersection of psychotherapy, neuroscience, contemplative practice, and myth. My work synthesizes ancient, modern, and emerging approaches to consciousness, including psychedelic medicine, depth psychology, relational practices, and Internal Family Systems therapy.

I’m the lead author of the book, “Psychedelic Medicine & Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy: A Clinical Skills Manual”, which I co-wrote with Martha Sweezy, Richard Schwartz, and Sunny Strasburg.

I write for clinicians and thoughtful readers interested in trauma, transformation, individuation, and the relationship between inner development and cultural change.

“By weaving Internal Family Systems into psychedelic practice, this book honors the intuitive way the psyche often reveals itself during these journeys. It offers clinicians a humane and sophisticated roadmap for navigating complex inner landscapes and stands as a timely and valuable contribution to the next chapter of psychedelic medicine.”
